It was Diwali, and she had been extra-enthusiastic that year for some reason. The dress, the sweets, the done and dusted exams..everything called for celebration! But, when the night of the festival came, there was a huge downpour. And, it had dampened more than just the ground, her spirits plummeted too.
As she sat there, blue, her mother came over and whispered into her ear, “The rain has taken a break, shall we go brighten up the place a little?”
They ran and quickly lit up a pink phuljhadi before the skies poured again, and for a brief moment, the sky glittered in the gorgeous spectacle of this light. This moment stayed with her forever, reminding her that the downpour does stop sometimes, to let you have your moment. And, moments of this joy were worth hoping for!
